Twitter Thursday (Times 2)

RT @depptla: A bit blurry, but one of the cupcakes I made for @Astro_Nicole‘s bday, as promised! (@NASA_Astronauts)

Which just proves 2 things, 1. That creatives and astronauts get along quite well, and 2. Astronauts love twitter (well I can’t really say that this proves it, but following both NASA and NASA_Astronauts on twitter will certainly prove it)

Speaking of astronauts, I was thinking of making a shuttle-styled wine bottle bag to gift some family members much more aeronautically inclined than myself. What do you think?

a new zine that I’ve just fallen for called, “At Your Leisure”. created by @happymundane – see sneak peek here –

It looks very nice. Definitely the type of thing I would want to pick up when looking for inspiration.

Taking inspiration from the Crochet Me newsletter, might I recommend making gifts from Crocheted Gifts this season?

So… I just had to put this up, because not only is there a sample of the book on but it’s also a brand new gift book from Kim Werker. You have to love her designs.

SisterDiane I like this method for joining granny squares. Pretty! (via Carina’s Craftblog)

I have to agree with sister Diane…and I do believe a granny square afghan is on my “to do for christmas” list

P.S. Raise your hand if you love the colors!! I know my hand is up.

Another addition to the daily blog route. Okay, I’m making a blog page for easy access to links. Now I just have to find out how Lars  has the “last updated” on his blogroll…

PhatFiber: Share your knitting/spinning muggle funnies with us!

I had to post this because a- I love the stories about non-knitting/spinning/crocheters that have the best comments about what you’re doing and b- I wanted to put up a definition that I’ve learned rather recently. (Crocheters- don’t feel left out! Go post your stories too!!)

Muggle (n)- A person who is uninitiated to the mysteries surrounding yarn and the love there of.

Origin: J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books, the word originally meant the non-magical characters.

kpwerker: Get out of the heat & into Urban Craft Uprising @ Seattle Center this weekend [I’m going Sat!] (via @Jennifer_Worick)

Had to post this because between the sock summit and this, I am rather jealous of the west-coasters right now. So please, if you’re in the area, check it out! (I wonder; are there are people who traverse the globe going from awesome craft-fair to sheep festival to knitting guild?)

KnitsforNeeds:As well as accepting pretty much any & all knit/crocheted items, KFN is currently in need of men’s items, especially men’s hats.

The only thing I regret about being so busy with my blog sometimes is that I really don’t have anymore time to make charity items. But maybe I can do a themed free pattern next week? Okay, I’m putting up my first poll, but you guys have to participate. Should I put up a charity themed men’s hat project next Thursday??? Oh, and second question -should I run the theme for 2 weeks, one a crocheted hat and one knit?
