Okay, so to celebrate both the first month of my blog and passing the 10,000 hits mark I am hosting a giveaway. I am making each entry a comment because I really want to make sure that all my readers are getting what they want.
There will be two winners, each of which will win: 1 “Pretty Cheep” project bag, 1 skein of sock yarn either Malabrigo or Araucania, 1 travel size tube of ‘Udder Cream’ (a fabulous moisturizer), 2 iron on customizable ‘handmade’ labels, 1 lantern moon notebook and 4 knit and crochet stitch markers. All of these things with the exception of the stitch markers I made are purchased from my LYS The Village Knitter. (Thank you, Karen!)

I think the site has good content. You might think about rearranging the links in the right column so your categories and twitter feed are near the top and links to stores and other bloggers are further down the page. That way it’s easier for your readers to find what they are looking for. It might also be good to include a more prominent link to your Etsy shop.

I love the way your blog is set up and wouldn’t change a thing. It’s organized, you can easily move around or find areas you’re interested in, it has enough white space, and is set up to make things quick and painless even for people still on dial-up ~ It’s great the way it is, really!
I’d like to see a lacy knit pattern for a fingerless glove designed with the new knitter in mind.

I love the color scheme of your banner on your site but I would like to see a bit more “activity” or color or things to draw the eye in. Not too much but enough to interest me. Sorry if that’s too vague.
And….
I would love to see you design a vest – one that isn’t too big on the shoulders so that you’d need shoulder pads to wear it, and there would be ribbing around the v neck and around the shoulders. I’ve attempted to make them and seem to get the shoulders too big and they are missing shaping. I am not good at revising patterns myself, other than really simple things so a vest that was designed with shaping and shoulders like I’ve described would be grand!

How fun – this is a nice giveaway!
1) How about a tank top or shell that is designed to flatter big chests (i.e., instructions on short-row shaping built in to the pattern)? I have been too intimidated to try altering patterns without the shaping info.
2) Your site is nice! But… I agree with Julie (above) that there could be more color to draw the eye. If I were changing the site, I would get rid of the grey border and the white box in the middle, have the banner at the top extend all the way across, and maybe visually separate the main column from the side column somehow. Also, in the banner, the background is fairly simple, and it could be more subtlely interesting, which would give the site a more professional look.

I love your blog – I’m just setting up my own so I’m really interested in seeing what other people have done.
The pattern I want to see most is a biiiiig request but here goes – I’ve been trying to find a good top-down raglan sweater pattern I can knit for my partner. I’ve seen some but the ‘crew neck’ on them looks like it’s trying to strangle someone so I want one with a bit of a ‘drop’ so a ribbed band can be added on at the end.
Maybe I need to get my designing head on and try it myself but any help would be appreciated. Thank you and lots of kisses 🙂

Love the blog! I am also bi-stitchual so I appreciate that you cover both topics. Your layout is nice and clean, VERY easy to read. Your reviews and recommendations are thoughtful and well-written; I feel like they give a lot of information without being too wordy.
I think you could add some more content to the sidebars but I think it’s also a slippery slope. Many blogs I read have sidebars that are so long and cluttered with information that it’s impossible to find what you are looking for.
As far as patterns, I would love to see items using both knitting and crochet, more than just a knitted item with a single crochet border. I am also currently drawn to shawls/wraps crocheted in laceweight yarn, or maybe something in sock weight yarn besides socks or baby stuff.

July 5th is my birthday, so this would make the perfect birthday present!
Something to improve upon: A link to comments would be really helpful. It took me a little while to figure out where I should click to get to the comment page, but eventually realized that I should click on the title of the post. I like your graphic at the top of the page, but maybe there could be a little more color in the blog to attract the eye? I also think you should have a link to your designs on the website. I went to Ravelry to check out what you’ve made so far so I could say what I’d like to see you make.
I would like to see you design a pair of crocheted fingerless mitts! I love fingerless mitts and am always looking for nice crocheted pairs.

I love the way you’ve gathered giveaways and such into one spot with links, plus a tiny write-up (which is very helpful). Reviews in general are great; you write clearly yet enthusiastically. Refreshing, actually. It would be nice to have more of a side bar for ‘skipping’ through to desired posts rather than using the backspace for another post, though.

What I like about the site is your writing. you form clear, coherent sentences and get your point across well. I would like to see more use of your sidebars for things like recent blog post links and possibly projects.

I like patterns for accessories….bags especially. I also like wearable pattens that are made of lighter yarns, since I am always hot. (menopause can be tough. :)) And continue to divide time on your blog between knitting and crochet evenly.

1) I would love to see a pattern for crocheted toeless spa socks, made from either bamboo or a bamboo/cotton blend. Something to put on when you’ve just gotten out of the bu and have lotion on your heels and want it to stay there. Something with elasticity (so it would have to like be a nylon/elastic blend, I suppose) that is soft and comfy. Something that can be worn lounging or to bed, or even with flip-flops/sandals (I’m in FL – we were those year round!).
2) Your site is nice as it is, but were I the webmaster, I would widen the page so that there’s not blank gray space on either side. No need to fill it up with tons of stuff, but extend what’s existing to fit the browser window. Your font is good – nice and clear, easy on the eyes. Adding a little more color/graphic could be a good thing, too.

1. If your posted designs are any indication, you have a great color aesthetic. I’d love to see a design that uses that in a fun way–maybe some entrelac or “fake isle”.
2. The magazine reviews are a great idea–it’s good to see what exactly is *in* those magazines before running out to see for yourself–and I like “Deals, Steals and Giveaways”. Fiber Artist Friday is less interesting to me, but that may just be my taste.

I like your layout, but I would say that it’s a little simple for me! WordPress really allows you to customize when you have more than their standard account, and I’d like to see that. Maybe some light-up links, a background pattern that really expresses you, and a new banner?

I’ve just recently been bitten by the lace bug, but don’t really wear shawls myself…how about something rectangular but still with the gorgeous lacey feel of the triangular shawls? I’ve seen lots of rectangular wraps on Rav, but most seem to have more dense patterning than the triangular shaped ones.
As for the blog, with 10,000 hits, I’d say you’re doing stuff right. The only thing I’d say is that the low contrast between the background color and the page color can be a little hard on the eyes…at least for some of us. 😉

Actually I would love to see a couple of things. First a long sleeved shrug, with a really long reaching back like past the waist but not as long as a shawl would fall. It would be wonderful if about half way down the sleeves would begin to really bell out in a lace pattern. Maybe a bit of a foldover shawl like collar that is also in the lace pattern of the sleeves.
Next I would love to see is a tank top that has a cap on the sleeve. I hope that made sense. And maybe just a bit below the midriff area a bit of openwork or laciness.
And please, if you do either of these would you please also include plus sises not just toothpick model sizes.
I know, easy for me to say. I’m not a designer I’m just a fabricator. It keeps me sane.

I think that you website rocks. As for a pattern, I know they make bags to hold crochet hooks and bags to hold needles, but what about a bag to hold both. A pattern that is expandable based on what is needed. (ie, pattern could hold just hooks, or needles, or both, and can be expanded from say 6 up to 20 spots to put them.) Does that make sense?

I would love to see knit and crochet combined in socks. I’m a sock knitter (been crocheting longer, but haven’t done socks) and think combining the two could result in some neat results.
Personally I like the blog as is. Maybe move the comment area to the top of the comments. But that could be my laziness speaking 🙂 I think it looks great though, nice and clean and it fits the overall theme of the blog well.

Hi, I just came over here from Ravelry. I can’t really answer the pattern question, as I’m new to you and your blog. I notice that the About page hasn’t been updated – I’d like to know something about you when I read your posts. And the heading, while colourful, cuts off the top of the text, which for some reason bugs me! Apart from that, I like that the text is easily readable (if a bit small for my 40-something eyes) and you write well (good grammar and spelling).

Hi! Love the site!
I’d like to see a navigation box of links to different pages/sections on the side of every page of the blog. I think that would make it a little more user-friendly overall. That’s the only issue I see, although another poster mentioned format issues which may be related to browser translation (I use Firefox and have no troubles in display).
As far as patterns go, I’d love to see you design a lace top for larger-breasted ladies, like in the US E-G cup range. Tall order, I know, as the increase/decrease parts can be mighty fiddly with that sort of proportion, yet I’d like to see something elegant and classy in that direction. I believe there is a huge market for patterns that flatter those who wear a cup size larger than a B, which is what most clothing proportions seem to be designed to fit and flatter properly. I like that your blog is clean and uncomplicated – nothing annoys me more than flashing bling-y type sites 😉 One thing I did notice is I’m only seeing the bottom 2/3 of your banner – for some reason the top bit is just plain purple. Maybe it’s just my browser, it’s been a bit wonky this week.
What to design … I’d love to see a lacy crochet shawl in the style of some of the popular knitted designs (Swallowtail, Ishbel, etc) – or a pair of crocheted socks that dispels the myth of “crocheted socks = slippers”. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I’m always eager for more quick and simple giftable patterns. I knit mostly for gifts and babies, so those are the areas I like to see new stuff. Patterns that can be done with one or two skeins are especially cool, since we all have that awful habit of buying just a skein or two of a yarn to try it out!

I’d love to see a rectangular knitted shawl pattern. I prefer rectangles to triangles and am always looking for something fun and new.
And I think you should make the dimensions of your text field a little wider. There is too much gray border and it looks a little barren/blah. But that’s just cosmetic. I like the “yarn ball rating system” you use!

I have 220 yards of dk weight yarn of a beautiful bamboo and silk blend that I need a pattern for. I am a bit tired of scarves but a cowl pattern or mini shawl/kerchief would be ideal.

I would like a schrug that fits more on the shoulder and don’t feel like it is falling off all the time. My back gets cold in the library where my knitting circle meets. I made the Modesty Schrug a free pattern from Knittingpatternscentral.com and I have to keep pulling it up around my shoulders.

I would love to see a sideways knit hat with some lace or cables that can either be made beanie style or one of the slouchier styles.
I like the blog overall, including the colors and size of the banner–not too big at all on my 20″ monitor 🙂 I would like to see a little color on the side bars instead of all the lt grey but I do understand it is a restful color for the eyes.

I would love to find a pattern for a pair of knitted socks that allowed for a set of initals at the ankle. That is a nice pair of men’s dress socks with small initials. Also a pattern so I could make a matching pair for my son, and his 4 year old and 6 month old.

I would like a crocheted sweater/top/ dress that fits large-busted, slightly chubby gals like me. Most of the patterns I’ve seen are very beautiful, but only on gals who aren’t lumpy. So if I were pattern wishing, I’d pick something flattering for my body shape.
I like your website. It’s clean, tidy and easy to read. The links to your previous post and next post are a little confusing when you use long titles because they bunch together in the middle. Could you use a couple of lines to make it more compact? also, if I want to jump a couple of posts, I’d have to flip through them. I think an index/archive or something like that could be helpful.

What would I like to see you design? I’m always on the look out for summery tops–short sleeve or sleevless that can be worn with a bra without the straps showing. If the tops are seamless or require minimal seaming, even better.
What do I like about your blog? I like the “clean” layout. It’s easy to navigate, easy to find things. Blogs that are too “busy” are frustrating. I like the clean, simple lines of yours.

I like your blog a lot, especially the weekly features – and congrats for keeping it up! I’ve had problems with the site previews in my browser though, and it took a few tries to turn them off. Maybe make those more user-friendly? An index would also be good, maybe under the feature headings / days of the week.
As for patterns, I’m going to second what some other people have said about bags – I would really like to see a nice sturdy knitted or crocheted bag for everyday use!

As for patterns….lace is always good 🙂 I also like seeing sweaters with classic styling. Something that won’t go out of style in a year or two. It takes me forever to knit a sweater, so I want it to last!

1) I’d also like a nice tank like Jen suggested (How about a tank top or shell that is designed to flatter big chests). I’m large chested, but not a big girl, so these are hard to find. Lots of patterns for big girls or skinny girls, but not normal sized girls with large chests.
2) I agree with many who say that your banner is too large. The page itself could use a little more color. I do like the fact that you have multiple themes for the days.

I’m always looking for what people who have finished a project I’m thinking about starting have to say. As for patterns to create, we need attractive patterns for the average woman – not those that only look good on skinny models!

I’d love a hybrid pattern, say for a baby blanket, wash or dish cloth, pillow that incorporated crochet and knitting. I’m making one up now, but I wouldn’t mind one for the future.
The purple and green colors of the logo are really hard on my eyes. Maybe a different color scheme would work better.

I like the cleanliness of your blog design. I would recommend making it wider. On my 17″ screen it takes up about 60% of the available space width wise. I’d say just make it a bit wider. Or you might shrink some of the margin space. That will be more helpful.

For a pattern, I’d love to see a simple (both in appearance and to make), preferably one-piece (none of that “make this sleeve, then that sleeve, then the back; then attach” stuff) shrug that can be made for ANY size. I get indescribably tired of seeing “plus-size” patterns that barely reach size 12, let alone a size that might fit anyone who’s truly plus-sized.
More than a pattern, though, I would love to hear — straight from the mouth/keyboard of a designer — how to figure crochet math. I’ve been crocheting for years, and I have yet to find solid information about how designers figure out (without crocheting and then frogging the same starting chain a million times) how many chain stitches they need when creating, say, an afghan. Yes, I can figure some basic multiples, but not without either a pattern or by constantly estimating and then frogging until I land on the right number. I tend to be very good with numbers, but whatever the key to crochet math is, it’s escaped me.

Thank you for posting this over at the CLF! I saw this one post there and am looking forward to reading the rest of your site.
So, let’s talk site first. Specifically first impressions: it’s a big, bright banner and does not look overly professional. I like your yarn ball with needles and hook, and I like the font used. All that really needs to happen is to take out the burst behind the “and”- that dates the banner more than anything else- make the colors a little darker, and make the whole thing a little smaller. (I am using a Dell Mini 9, and I get all of three lines of text before having to Page Down.) The words under the blog title are not needed, but they are not bringing things down much either. I would still remove them in the interest of simplicity. Many have pointed out the simplicity of design, and I like this too. I also like that the text box was white and bordered by a solid color (not ads, not text, not links, not pictures). However, well before the end of all the comments before me, I was no longer seeing the grey and it all looked white. My recommendation is to keep the color border, but make it a darker shade than this- moderate to dark- in a neutral (and grey is neutral) or a color used in your theme (the purple or green in this case, but still darker than in your logo).
Patterns? I am a pretty new self-taught crocheter. There is this rectangular shawl I am working on (this is my Ravelry name too, and this is in my projects under Openwork Project, I think), and would love advice on. (First shawl, first openwork… you get the idea.) Otherwise, all I can do is fifteenth requests for patterns that flatter larger chests and larger torsos (when you are at 18-20, 12 is NOT plus size!) and sweaters for kids over 5 and boys at any age, especially in crochet!

In general I like your blog, but one thing I’d change about it is the amount of empty space in the margins. It’s easier on the eyes if there’s some space, but on my computer it looks like there’s more empty space than writing and that means I have to scroll more often.

1) As far as a pattern goes- I would really like to see a baby pattern or two. They are great b/c they don’t use up much yarn, knit up quick, and most of the population either have babies or know someone with a baby. Specifically my favorites are baby hats and sweaters- something with a slightly different look but not crazy enough that you would never put your child in it!!! (see ravelry pattern for newborn angle sweater) Also specifically something for boys- many of the cute ones are for girls!! Somethings else great would be a combo yarn- stash buster pattern. More specifically – what to make when you have a small amount of a really expensive, luscious yarn. (example- I bought a tiny amount of quiviut and would LOVE to combine it with these two skeins I have of nice alpaca yarn- but am not quite creative enough to make up a pattern doing so.)
2) I also agree with the color scheme comments, and editing your banner. I like darker, or more neutral colors. Also one thing I found lacking was pictures. I love when a pic is in the banner, or just below. A pic of you on the home page, or even just of your hands knitting- really makes a blog more personal. Of course pics of the knitting and patterns are more important, but I like to connect with the person I am reading from:-) Also- is there any way that the blog could show up bigger/wide- it comes up as only the middle third of my screen- leaving these gaping holes on the sides. That distracts me quite a bit.

I’m liking the content of the blog – practical advice, and nice to see some crochet stuff. But there’s some things about the layout that aren’t working for me. I like the rating system because it ties in with your logo, but I’m not grooving on the banner. If you’re doing the 80’s kitsch thing, that’s cool, but it isn’t really reflected in the rest of the site graphically. I second the sentiment that you have to scroll a lot to get through stuff, but I do like that you have some clear headings, so I know what I should read (or not).
Couldn’t really find your patterns clearly, and I’d like to see some work on the sidebars.

1. I love your site. I’ve never visited before and found it interesting. It’s not big and flashy, but I like that – I find flashy distracting. I like that you’ve got tips and patterns for both knit and crochet. I knit like a fiend but have a hard time with crochet so it’s nice to find both on one site.

1) Well my mother is constantly asking me for a new shrug so I would like to see one of those, but she is suffering from menopause so there would have to be some specific details like it would have to be light weight probably something very lacy and short sleeves. I have been considering cap sleeves for her because she insists that is has to have sleeves but they need to be nearly non existent. Nothing too long she was thinking about the length of a shrug, but I was thinking of something that could be worn in different ways to give off different looks.
2) I agree with Amanda about the links. Your design is easy on the eyes which I like. There is nothing worse than viewing a website that the color scheme gives you a headache after viewing it for a few minutes. All in all it’s very easy to navigate and so far the posts have been interesting. I bookmarked it to read later.

I would love to see a pattern for a hooded sweater suitable for a preschooler, especially a boy! I have a grandson that I have been trying to knit a sweater for and finding patterns for boys that are wearable, fun to knit (meaning texture or colorwork), and easy to care for (my daughter in law does not hand wash anything, lol) has been a challenge.

With SIDS being known about, and knowing we can prevent it just by not using blankets in the crib and putting our babies down on their backs, I think the sleep sacks/buntings are just great! I think you should make an in between sweater. A little harder than a raglan in the round, but without 30,000 thousand color changes and complicated stitches, so people can ease into more difficult patterns without pulling their hair out!!!!

Pattern: I would like to see a summer top, a bit like the lime green one in Knitty this last issue, but that is less fitted under the bust – to cover a multitude of sins! I love that pattern but could not wear it at the moment.

Your site is great is catches the eye but I find it a little hard to navigate. I have been hunting for a simple lightweight shrug. Basically a tube without cuffs on the arms, open for neck/body area. yarn should be good for summer too. I have a lot of black no sleeve dresses and want some added warmth without taking away from the dress.
And actually, I like the simple look of your blog. Well maybe I would have the font increase just a bit to make it a little easier on the eye–then again I am approaching 46 and apparently reading glasses are quickly appearing in my future.

I’ve been looking around for a camisole and hotpants or short bloomers with an allover lace pattern for ages. Think old style underwear as in the book a stitch in time or earlier.

I would like to see knitting patterns for socks, hats, scarves ~ something easy, quick and portable. Also, sock patterns that incorporate the Magic Loop method. I love to be able to take my projects with me while riding in the car, waiting at the doctor’s office or on my lunch break at work.

It would be nice for the menu sidebar thing (where you have the calander, archives, categories, etc) stayed at the top of the screen even when you scrolled down through the post. Hope that makes sense. It makes it easier to move around the site.

I would like to see a long vest pattern that uses entrelac technique with really easy-to-follow directions. I can find all sorts of theoretical, not-so-easy entrelac general directions, but they are not in patterns. OR a pattern assumes one should already know entrelac and just go ahead and incorporate it. I think a solid front, maybe left and right as different colors, and then the back side entrelac in both those colors?

I like the simple clean appearance of your blog. When sites get too fancy, they can be difficult to read. I also like your content–links to sales and freebies, tips and instructions, reviews, ang the photos that don’t take up much space and can be enlarged. Chatter is nice, too, but I put your blog in my favorites because of it’s solid and well written content.
Love your turtle–can you design a little mouse? Given my usual “handle” (janmaus), I’m forever making and collecting mice.

I live in a very hot climate, so am always looking for something like a nice summer top. There are tons of patterns for cool weather items in wool but they won’t work here. So I would like a not so basic T-shirt in another fiber. Something a little different or on the edge.

I’m not sure how adept you are at doing socks (I’m not so much) but I’ve heard of making socks that are both crocheted and knit. Something like you crochet the heel and toe (parts that wear more) and knit the rest. It’s something I would love to try but would need a pattern for guidance.

What I like most is that you have excellent content for both crochet and knitting. Since I’m a bit crazy with all types of fiber projects, I enjoy reading tips, patterns etc for both.
I also think your layout is clean and inviting. No need to distract from content.. after all isn’t that what blogging is about? You have a good use of balance between text and pictures without overload.

I love making socks but I’m not a fan of the yarn over. I’m not sure why but it just doesn’t thrill me. So, that eliminates lots and lots of sock patterns. Can you make a great sock pattern without yarn overs?

1. I would love to see a pattern for a simple rectangular shawl that a beginner could do. Something appropriate to cover up shoulders when wearing a fancy strapless dress, light but without complicated lace.
2. I think your blog is wonderful! The only thing I might change is the banner at the top – smaller, different color scheme, or both. The content is great, though, so I wouldn’t change a thing there!

The only suggestion I can make for a small tweak to the blog is that the header isnt even at the moment, Hook goes right to the left hand edge of the margin, whilst the right hand side has lots of clear space. I think it would look more slick if you just centred the text and logo.
Otherwise, its all great, keep up the good work!
As for patterns, its always good to see things that are both fun and practical, what about taking eth concept of yoru technicolour shrug and working it into a modular colour graded shrug, so nice easy sections for beginners, but adds up to a more complex design that is really eye catching.

A pattern I would like to see is a tank top with a cable top and long easy flowing bottom reaching to the waist. Something that not only can you wear it casual with jeans but can also dress it up for work.

As for a pattern, what I’ve really been looking for and can’t find is a good lace pattern for a hooded cape. I’ve tried a couple mock-ups myself, but I always get stuck on the hood part :p. So that would be my vote. That or a little knitted (or crocheted) chipmunk.

design ideas – I’ve yet to find a really flattering empire waist sweater in knit – and I’ve looked! Something with long or short sleeve options would be great! Here are some link (picture) ideas of what I”m talking about…. (although the one is fairly low in the front, so maybe not quite that low…. lol)

As far as patterns go, I want to learn to do cables but I am intimidated by them! I want to make more than a cabled dishcloth, but at the same time do not want to pick too advanced of a pattern. I want to practice cables, not a complicated pattern. I think a cabled purse or bag would be a great pattern to work on. There is nothing too fancy like heel or thumb gussets, you could easily incorporate a cable and it is functional!

Hi, you have a lovely site and I love the review of the Color Knitting Techniques. The one thing that I think might make things easier for a visitor is if there were some links to entries and topics along the sides.
One pattern I would love to see is a nice shrug with 3/4 length sleeves and comes over to a bit of an overlap in front. Something pretty that would help keep one warm in the winter so that you can save on heat. The ones I have seen are tiny things with short sleeves.
I will come back to visit and I look forward to seeing any patterns you design., but I must confess that I would love to win, too.

I would like to see what you might do with geometric shapes and some sort of cocoon design. I like things with unusual construction and it would be interesting to see something with an origami theme: basic shapes, easy to make, but stylish.
The only thing I would change would be the colors. The green and purple are pretty and work well together., but on the pastel blue background it just does not make for an eye-catching effect, and does not really reflect the great energy of your blog!
I like that your blog is so well organized and easy to navigate. Good content choices, too.

This is probably a long shot, but I would love to see a project bag for stranded color knitting. Something that would keep the yarns contained, with holes in the outside of the bag for each of the yarns to come out and hopefully remain tangle-free. Like I said, probably more of a pipe dream than anything, but a girl can hope!
The only change I would make is to brighten up the background a bit. Maybe make it the same color as the yarn ball in your header?

As for tips: I like how clean your site is, and the easy navigation. It seems a little stark and impersonal to me, the main grey background is cold. I like the idea of the header too, but as others have said, seems a little cartoony. All-in-all, it is nice… just needs that little extra push to make it look more professional and polished. It's so close!
However, it is hard to tell which links are "yours" and which lead elsewhere without clicking on them. Putting the search near the top and keeping your personal links grouped near the top of that column will help with that. non-personal sites have "second" priority and can be placed lower in the column.

Thanks for the give-away. After looking at your blog I would have to say that my one recommendation for improvement would be to make it easier to navigate and to see subjects of interest. The style is very nice, but it is so spartan that it is hard to find your way around. I like the clean look, but maybe it is too clean to be as useful as it could be.
As for the pattern I would like to see…. I suppose what I have been looking for unsuccessfully on Ravelry and everywhere else is a worsted weight cardigan that is fitted for women with or without curves (in a wide variety of sizes), flattering and not too frufru. I am so tired of boxy, drop shouldered sweaters, with square bodies, a little fitting would be great.

The recent surge of popularity in mini cardis and short sleeve shrugs has left me jealous and sad I can’t do the math to convert.

what i like about your blog is how clean the interface is–i don’t have to squint through all kinds of web 2.0 crap to get to the good stuff: you talking about knitting! if you revamp the layout, keep it simple while adding a little sophistication (header image, or drop-down menus, etc.)

The only thing I’d change is the sidebar I’d make the categories after the last 5 posts and before the Twitter and maybe make the sides green or purple to match the banner, nothing too crazy though.
As for what I’d like designed, a caplet maybe cabled, with loose sleeves and buttons (medium big ones) all the way down the center. Something like that with either a collar or just a cable running around the neckline.

I really like your site and I like the colors. I am not good with web sites so I can’t tell you what doesn’t belong or work, LOL, I can say that it was nice to read and didn’t make me want to click somewhere else.
As for a pattern I would love to see a sweater that is just wild for a little girl, 7 year old, with fun and funky cables!

I love the long sleeve shrug idea. I was just thinking this morning about how I would love to knit one.
As for what I like or don’t like about the site… well, I’m not a fan of green and purple together. (Bad childhood experience!) But otherwise, it is a super blog!

I would love to see a plus size top, made for extended sizes, with 3/4 sleeves in a swingy pattern! Made in something glorious and kinda lightweight with maybe jewel tone colors, eye popping ones! with a scoop neck, maybe empire waist, babydoll type…..

OH, you do the Hook and Needle Gal, you toss the yarn around that’s what it’s all about!! Hey sometimes you can’t reign yourself in. I’d like to see these sites have a search so that when I want to find something you said months ago, I don’t have to look so hard to find it. And I love one that plays serene or upbeat music in the background.
